Why Sandaran

What Clients Value Most
Malaysian Bar–Registered Advisors
Every advisor handling your matter holds a current Practising Certificate. You are dealing with qualified legal professionals, not general consultants.
Plain Language from Start to Finish
You will not receive a letter full of legal terms without explanation. We write and speak in a way that older clients and families can follow without difficulty.
Appointments at Your Pace
Sessions are not time-boxed to the nearest half-hour. We allow enough time for clients to ask questions and feel comfortable before any decision is made.
Written Summaries Provided
After every consultation, you receive a written summary of what was discussed, what your options are, and any next steps — so there is no need to recall details from memory.
We Manage the Correspondence
All letters, submissions, and follow-ups to KWSP, KWAP, or pension bodies are handled by Sandaran. Clients do not need to contact these bodies themselves.
Family Cases Handled Together
For households with several pension matters, we coordinate everything under a single case file. No need to manage separate advisors for each entitlement.
Legal Expertise in Pension and EPF Matters
Pension and EPF law in Malaysia is handled by a range of bodies operating under different legislation — the Employees Provident Fund Act 1991, the Pension Act 1980, the KWAP Act 2007, and others. Navigating these as an individual is not straightforward. Our advisors have spent their careers in this area and know where the practical pressure points tend to occur in EPF withdrawal claims, declined pension applications, and survivor entitlement disputes.
- In-depth knowledge of KWSP, KWAP, LTAT, and PERKESO regulations
- Familiarity with current KWSP dispute procedures and review channels
- Experience across private sector, civil service, and military pension schemes
A Clear, Orderly Process
We use the same structured approach for every case: an initial review of documents, a consultation to explain the situation, preparation of submissions, and managed correspondence with the relevant body. Clients are updated at each stage. There are no opaque phases where a matter is simply "in progress" without further explanation.
- Structured four-stage process for every matter
- Written update at each milestone
- Realistic timelines shared at the outset
A Service Built for Older Clients and Families
Many of our clients come to us in their sixties or seventies, sometimes with a family member supporting them through the process. We are comfortable with this. Consultations take as long as they need to. We accommodate requests to involve adult children or other representatives. Documents are explained in full before signatures are sought.
Transparent, Fixed Service Fees
Our service fees are fixed and stated clearly before any engagement begins. The Pension Understanding Session is RM 570. Dispute Assistance is RM 1,180. Whole-Family Pension Care is RM 1,900. There are no hourly billing surprises and no additional charges for correspondence that falls within the scope of the service.
Focused on Outcomes, Not Volume
We maintain a deliberate limit on the number of active matters we handle at any time. This is a considered choice: it allows each case to receive proper attention rather than being processed alongside hundreds of others. Clients work with the same advisor from initial consultation through to resolution.
- Same advisor throughout your case
- Limited caseload for quality assurance
- Client satisfaction tracked after each completed matter

What Sets Us Apart
Distinctive Features of Sandaran
Pension-Only Focus
Sandaran does not take on general legal work. Every matter in our office relates to retirement entitlements. This singular focus means our knowledge of pension regulations, KWSP procedures, and dispute channels remains current and deep.
Consolidated Family Dossier
Families who engage our Whole-Family Pension Care service receive a single consolidated dossier covering all household retirement matters. This document is designed to remain useful to the family long after our engagement ends.
No Pressure to Proceed
After an initial Pension Understanding Session, clients receive their written summary and are free to consider their options at leisure. We do not follow up with repeated calls or create urgency around decisions that deserve time.
Accessible City Centre Location
Our Plaza Sentral office is directly connected to KL Sentral station, making it accessible from across the Klang Valley without the need for a car — an important consideration for older clients who no longer drive.
